Peace
Have you ever noticed how in the still and calm of sitting in the midst of nature with only the roaring of the dragonfly wings and the shutter of the leaves blowing in the calm breeze, we may feel as though we have momentarily tapped into peace. For most of us we may feel as though the world has for a short time paused and nothing else matters. We have stepped into another realm, a world of peace, love and harmony. There are no deadlines to catch, dinners to cook, babies crying, and honking of the rush hour traffic.
For most of our population it is only on these rare occasions of solitude that we find this temporary serenity. As I sat in my moment of stillness pondering the many glorious wonders of this life I noticed the extreme busyness all around me. The commotion in the sky was unlike any 5 o’clock traffic I’ve ever experienced. The birds rushing this way and that, swooping here and there, the calls of the wild grew aggressive and direct. The many flying insects appeared to be late for some unknown deadline. I was in the midst of another world, sitting back in total peace while this world was rushing about all around me.
It was at that moment I realized it is no different than our world. I no longer had to be in complete solitude in the middle of nature to find that moment of serenity. Peace was never merely intended to be a place of solitude but yet a place filled with commotion and relationship. Life is birthed in the midst of busyness. Life can flourish even in the most seemingly difficult of times. It was never intended for life to stop to find peace. We were intended to walk in it daily, being the ones with the authority to change the atmosphere around us. The peace is within you and I and it’s a bottomless reservoir that will never run dry.
Go in peace
