Home - a place in the Father's Heart
We have started reading Spiritual Slavery to Spiritual Sonship with the local team to begin connecting as a team again. By the way, if you are a team member and you are wondering why you didn’t get invited into to this it is because we are doing a test run of doing team reading as a blog. I wanted to make sure that we had the system down so that I wasn’t running into technical issues with 50 people.
Well, back to my story. I am in the first chapter, which should be basic introduction for me, and I am stopped in my tracks by this statement; “Home is where you constantly hear the voice of God speaking His affirmation over you, His love over you, and His forgiveness, compassion, and grace over you.”
I immediately had 2 thoughts. The first was, “Where is that place for me?”, and the second was, “Is that what home is like for my family?”
The first question is obviously more about a state of being that a physical place. For a lot of people they have a special place where they can sit and hear the voice of God speaking to them. I can be one of those people sometimes so I feel it is important to find the place where I can rest and enjoy Him.
The second is crucial not only to those of us who share the Father’s Love message, since it should start in the home, but it is absolutely crucial to carrying this revival to the next generation and to the world. It is what allows us to “make our ceiling their floor” as Bill Johnson says it.
So as a father, husband, and representation of Father’s Love to my family I am paused and meditating on this. I realize that I am pretty good at doing this for my little girls but could be better when it comes to Sarah. How can I fix this situation? I have prepared my mediation for the next couple of days.
Pause,
Doug
